Orange Mint
this is a beverage that my mother used to make when she would have 
bridge parties. 
 
 
5 cup  sugar
2-1/2 cup  water
2 handfull  of mint sprigs
12   lemons
4   oranges
  ice
  water or strong tea
 
boil 5 cups sugar and 2 1/2 cups water to thick syrup. pour over 2 
handfuls of mint sprigs (we grow them in our back yard) and let stand for 
2 hours. strain the juice of 12 lemons and 4 oranges into a half gallon 
container. add mint syrup and fill container with water. to serve, fill 
glass 1/4 full of orange mint, add ice and fill with water (or strong 
tea).
