Chops 'N Taters

| 6 | pork chops |
| | shortening |
| 6 to 8 cup | sliced potatoes |
| 1 cup | baby carrots, optional |
| 2 can | cream of mushroom soup |
| 1 | soup can milk |
| 1/4 cup | chopped onion |
| 1 tsp | salt |
| 1/4 tsp | pepper |
| 1/4 tsp | celery seed |
| | grated cheddar cheese |
| |
| brown chops in shortening on both sides in 14-inch dutch oven. |
| remove from oven and drain on paper towels. |
| place peeled, sliced potatoes and carrots in bottom of the dutch oven. |
| mix remaining ingredients except cheese. |
| pour this mixture over potatoes and carrots. |
| place pork chops on top; sprinkle liberally with cheese. |
| bake in an oven at 350 f, if camping, by placing 9-11 coals on bottom |
| and |
| 17-18 on top for 1 1/2 hours or until potatoes are done. |
