Danish Breakfast Treats

1/2 cup | ((1 stick) butter or margarine |
1 cup | sugar |
2 | egg yolks |
2 cup | all-purpose flour |
18 oz. | orange marmalade or apricot preserves |
3/4 cup | chopped pecans |

cream butter and sugar. add egg yolks. add flour and mix with a fork |
until pastry consistency. set aside 1/4 cup of this mixture. press |
the remainder of this mixture on the bottom and sides of a 10x15x1/2 |
inch rimmed (jellyroll) pan. spread with marmalade or preserves. |
sprinkle with chopped nuts. sprinkle the 1/4 cup of pastry mix over |
nuts. bake in a 325 degree oven 30 minutes or until pastry is |
lightly browned. let cool 5-10 minutes and cut into squares while |
warm. yield: 5 dozen. may be frozen. good for morning brunch or |
morning coffee |
